Holiday happiness - register now for our December day camps and workshops

Think it's too early to start planning for the holidays? Think again! Registration for the City's many Christmas and winter holiday workshops and day camps has already begun. With dazzling activities such as games, sports, crafts and skating, there's plenty of holiday fun to be had. Register now! 

Locally made crafts and treats at McNabb 

McNabb Community Centre's annual Christmas Craft Sale on Saturday November 28 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Free admission and free parking, with over 25 tables of crafts and delectable treats just in time for your holiday shopping.  Christmas Craft Sale has operated for over 30 years at 180 Percy Street in Centretown.

Dashing through the – wait, what?

Start your holidays early! Festive workshops are filling up already. Attend a class and create the first piece of a Christmas village – a special "heirloom" to pass down for generations to come, or bring the whole family to this class where each member will create a handmade ornament to help "trim the tree". 

Ride the surf at the city's wave pools

The ultimate swim experience, the city's wave pools offer a wet and wild occasion like no other. After all, where else in Ottawa can you swim indoors while enjoying the thrill of plunging through metre-high waves? With three convenient locations - Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool, Splash Wave Pool on Ogilvie and the Ray Friel Recreation Complex in Orléans - our wave pools hold the most exhilarating aquatics experience around!  Jump, jive and wail at the City's Big Band Dances

Adults of all ages are invited to Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre to swing to the hits of the 40's and 50's! People come from all over to hear the sounds of Ottawa's best Big Bands and dance the night away!  Featuring The Grey Jazz Big Band, join us Thursday, December 3. Tickets are $19 in advance or $23 at the door and include a light lunch. Cash bar available. Call 613-828-4313 for more information.

Community outdoor rink program is recruiting!

Join the hundreds of community-based volunteers who devote their time to provide access to affordable winter recreational activity every year!
The City of Ottawa Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is recruiting committed groups or individuals that are interested in operating or supporting a neighborhood outdoor rink for the 2015-16 season.
