This project is currently in detailed design and construction is expected to start in the spring of 2019. The anticipated completion for the project is fall 2021. Over the last month, the Montreal Road project team has been focusing on:
- Intersection designs: Within the project limits, there are 26 intersections, 12 of which are signalized, with each intersection having its own unique geometry and design challenges.
- Landscape plans: This includes street furniture such as benches, bike racks, garbage, receptacles and pedestrian lights.

The Vanier Montreal Road Public Art Plan continues apace! Over the past few months, ART+PUBLIC UnLtd and Bespoke Cultural Collective have done extensive research in the community, conducting interviews with a dozen key stakeholders and held three Vanier and Montreal Road Public Art visioning workshops on January 16 and 17, 2019. These workshops were attended by about 60 participants with great ideas for public art in Vanier and along Montreal Road.
The information gathered through these workshops will now be synthesized and will form the basis of a Public Art Plan for Vanier Montreal Road.
