A great way to spend the summer in our city!

If finding summer activities close to home is your priority, check out the new Camp Ottawa found around the city with organized games, sports, crafts and special events. Themes ignite the imagination and offer a different program each week. We offer the largest selection of camps in the city, in community centres, recreation complexes, arenas, arts centre and pools. Select from three Camp Ottawa’s with options for swimming and outings. We will keep your child on the go and having a blast with new friends!

Fun 'n Friends: Energy and Adventure

Creative play, songs, crafts, games and special events.A great place to make friends in your neighbourhood.Our well trained leaders organize imaginative and interesting activities specifically for children age 4 to 5 years. Find locations around the city including: Carleton Heights, Constance Bay, Cyrville, Huntley and Richelieu-Vanier.

Swimming Lessons are included in camp

Camp Swim Explorer:
Love to swim? Improve your skills and strokes with daily Red Cross swimming lessons and leisure swim time. Fun camp games and crafts will round out each day. 

Computers and Kids

Creating computer games is a great way to build computer skills this summer.  With one PC to two campers, get half day in the lab and half a day of regular camp activities. Make new friends who share your interests.  Many to choose from in collaboration with Future Kids of Ottawa

Find your sport

Lots of options for keeping your skills growing and being active this summer.  Check out the sports camps at these facilities:  Minto Recreation Complex-Barrhaven, Pinecrest Recreation Centre, Ray Friel Complex, Richcraft Recreation Complex-KanataSt-Laurent Complex and Walter Baker Sports Centre.

Dance away your summer

Experiment with different dance styles. Create dance combinations to music and develop basic dance skills!  Dance Camp at Beacon Hill North and John G. Mlacak; Dance Adventure at Fred Barrett Arena and Old Town Hall (Kanata).

Summer Ice is Nice!  Hockey Camps across the City

Keep cool this summer improving your skills for Canada's national sport – hockey! With on and off ice activities, camps are a great way to pick up some tips and increase skating and scoring skills. For recreational and competitive players, we still have spots in our camps offered at arenas across the city

Youth leadership programs: Real training; Real certificates; Real experience! 

The City of Ottawa offers a full range of leadership programs for youth 13 and up. Summer is a great time to start to become a leader. With three different levels based on age, you can become skilled and ready for employment and even meet the 40 hours for high school community service requirements.  Make this a fun summer that will change your life!

Come out to 'clay" with us! Summer classes start July 4

Keep out of the heat this summer by playing it cool with clay at the Nepean Visual Arts Centre.With a special projects intermediate and advanced pottery wheel class starting on July 5, or Level  1 and 2 wheel throwing class starting July 4.

Pottery and Dance – Great Combination!

Move to the beat with energetic and different dance styles. Continue the arts adventure by creating clay masterpieces. Locations: Shenkman Arts Centre.

Kids Can Park-ticipate

Children aged four to 10 are invited to drop-in for fun-filled summer days of sports, crafts and games at Park-ticipate locations in rural and urban water parks throughout Ottawa.  Check out the schedule for this free activity created by leaders you can trust. Excitement guaranteed! 

Summer Staff Invade Recreation and Culture

Almost 2,000 summer staff have joined Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services to deliver summer programs and events! You'll see them at the beaches, lifeguarding outdoor and wading pools, running summer camps, and organizing special events.  Trained in High Five, emergency procedures, first aid, communication and leadership – FUN is the top word on their to-do list and they've jumped on board to provide first class service!

Discover all the possibilities for part-time jobs in recreation and culture by submitting an application for employment.  Applications to open competitions are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year, but apply early to be considered for fall vacancies.  Keep your eye on our part-time jobs page for opportunities in our pools, community centres and cultural facilities.
